Larynx Transplant - A UC Davis Health System patient recently received a larynx transplant. Since the highly complex and rare voicebox transplant, which took place last October, Brenda Jensen has regained the ability to speak using her natural voice. The 52-year-old Modesto, Calif. resident had severely damaged her vocal chords 11 years ago and was unable to speak without the use of a hand-held electronic device that produced an artificial, robotic-sounding voice. We'll talk about it with one of her sugeons, Dr. Greg Farwell, and hear how she's doing now.
